Irina Sharipova will represent Russia in Miss World 2010 next October in Sanya. She was the first runner-up of Miss Russia 2010. Irina of Tatarstan is 18 year old and stands 1.78m.
France and Russia replaced their original Miss World delegates because a certain international pageant is still struggling to find a host city for couple of years already. This year was not the exception. Last spring, the organization moved their 2010 pageant to late August because of their continuous crusade for finding a host without any luck. This was a rather unfair move for those directors that hold the Miss World franchise. They ended up celebrating their event at their home turf with all expenses paid by the pageant officials.
This move meant that all delegates that were going to compete in Miss World as well, would only have one month to rest. These replacements are the first results of this scheduling constraint. It is important to note that the Miss World Organization announced last year that the pageant would take place in late October/early November and they kept their word even after the Vietnam hosting location dispute.

Beauty pageants
At the national contest for "Miss Tatarstan", Sharipova entered by accident. On a shopping trip, she came to look at the contestants in the qualifying round and was spotted by the organizers, who picked her out of the crowd and persuaded her to enter. With no experience in modeling she was surprised to win on 31 January 2010, but decided to enter "Miss Russia". Sharipova won the title of the first "Vice-Miss Russia 2010" in March 2010, winning a grant to study at any university in the world.[2][3] [4] She hopes to enter Miss Universe, but was too young by a week to be eligible for Miss World
