After several controversies, the Miss Azerbaijan title went to
Gulnara Alimuradova / Гюльнара Алимурадова. Gulnara is 21 years old with a height of 5 feet and 7 inches. She hails from the capital city Baku.
The Miss Azerbaijan contest is the first for the central Asian nation. The pageant was almost cancelled at the last minute. The contest proper was off limits to the press.
